Appearing

A Quiet Prayer

I see you.
I see all of you.

I have always seen you
    though I have not always trusted
my seeing.

And every one of you I have ever known
   I have seen you --

As you appear here
   and at the same time
as you have always been
   before and while and after
you ever appeared thus.

I have loved all of this
     that I have seen in you.

It is the deepest thing in you
    that I love the most
and with the deepest thing in me.

For this seeing
   we find each other.
In this seeing
   we unwind the human coil.
